If there’s one artist to watch in 2024, it’s Yseult. Having become the most listened-to French-speaking artist internationally this summer thanks to the track “Alibi” featuring Sevdaliza and Pablo Vittar, Yseult released her second album in September, entitled “Mental”. This multi-genre album draws inspiration from rock, reggaeton, soul and RnB, and reinforces her commitment to the fight against grossophobia and the place of black women in society: “There’s a long way to go as a black woman, as a fat woman”, she declared at the time of her music award in the “Female Revelation” category in 2021, for the sublime track “Corps”, a diamond single. Her stance is reflected in her lyrics and her career: manager, producer, artistic director of her own label, nothing now seems out of reach.
